The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) has strategically decided to contest a single seat in the forthcoming Puducherry assembly elections, according to party General Secretary D Ravikumar.
MP Ravikumar announced that the VCK, a member of the Congress-led INDIA coalition in Puducherry, is set to contest from the Uzhavarkarai assembly constituency for the elections scheduled on April 9. The party's workers are committed to working towards alliance victories in the remaining 29 assembly seats.
Initially, VCK intended to contest in four constituencies—Nettapakkam, Oussudu, Uzhavarkarai, and Yanam. However, a re-evaluation following talks between Congress General Secretary Mukul Wasnik and VCK leader Thol Tirumavalavan led to their current stand.
