Record Revenue and Freight Milestone for Vijayawada Railway Division

The Vijayawada Division of the South Central Railway has achieved a landmark by recording its highest-ever gross revenue of Rs 5,907.20 crore in the financial year 2025-26. Additionally, the division noted a record freight loading of over 40.6 million tonnes, marking a significant milestone in its operations.
Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager, Mohit Sonakiya, highlighted the division's passenger revenue growth of 9.9% to Rs 1,523.90 crore, with over 74.1 million passengers transported. This was complemented by freight earnings of Rs 4,166 crore, despite offering concessions to the power sector.
Key infrastructure improvements were made, including automatic block signaling and new line sections. Amenities were upgraded with station developments, lift installations, and safety improvements. Over 5,200 special trains operated during peak seasons, and the Vande Bharat Express service extended to Narasapur.
