Amit Shah Launches 15-Day Bengal Blitz Ahead of Crucial Elections

Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Thursday that he will remain in West Bengal for the next 15 days to intensify campaigning for the pivotal two-phase assembly elections, scheduled for April 23 and 29. Shah underscored his determination to engage with local leaders and the electorate during his stay.

In a significant move, West Bengal Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari is challenging Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in her Bhabanipur stronghold. In a show of strength, Adhikari filed his nomination in the presence of Amit Shah. Other BJP candidates, including Swapan Das Gupta, Shatrunja Ghosh, and Santosh Pathak, also submitted their nominations.

The electoral battle has sparked a fierce exchange between the ruling Trinamool Congress and the BJP. Allegations ranging from voter roll manipulation to illegal immigration have dominated the discourse. As Shah campaigns vigorously, the BJP looks to unseat the TMC amidst growing public dissatisfaction over governance issues.
