Fuel Feud: Congress vs. BJP Over Gas Availability Amid West Asia Crisis
Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath claimed there is no gas shortage in India, criticizing the government's handling of distribution amid the West Asia crisis. The BJP countered, accusing Congress of spreading misinformation for political gain. Both parties sparred over fuel availability after a key meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a political face-off, senior Congress leader Kamal Nath on Thursday asserted that while India has no shortage of gas, the government's distribution mechanisms are inadequate. His comments come amid ongoing tensions in West Asia, where the global impact on fuel supplies is prominently being felt.
The ruling BJP swiftly reacted, using Nath's statement to criticize the Congress for allegedly misleading the public. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia echoed this sentiment, accusing Congress of instilling fear for political advantage, while pointing out the purported contradictions in their narrative.
Both parties have engaged in a war of words over the country's fuel availability. This clash follows after Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a crucial Cabinet Committee on Security meeting. He emphasized safeguarding Indian citizens from the crisis in West Asia, and called for accurate public information to prevent the spread of rumors.
