Strengthening Ties: Russia-India Parliamentary Cooperation

In a promising diplomatic engagement, a Russian parliamentary delegation led by First Deputy Speaker Vladimir Yakushev visited India, meeting with Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh. The visit underscores the growing cooperation between the two nations, highlighting their rich history of parliamentary exchanges.

India's Harivansh welcomed Yakushev and noted the significance of both nations' ongoing engagements across multiple domains. He praised the robust bilateral cooperation spanning political, strategic, economic, and cultural spheres, which enriches their partnership at numerous levels. Both sides aim to achieve the ambitious target of $100 billion in annual trade by 2030.

Focusing on cultural ties, Harivansh spoke of the successful exposition of Buddha relics in Russia's Kalmykia, evidencing deep cultural connections. Additionally, India's current BRICS chairmanship sees strong Russian support, exemplifying multifaceted collaboration.
