The second Sikkim Arts and Literature Festival is set to make waves from April 26-28 at The Ridge Park in Gangtok. The event, spearheaded by Sikkim’s Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang along with the Students' Welfare Board and Teamwork Arts, aims to spotlight the northeastern states' artistic and literary talents.
The festival offers a platform for a rich array of speakers, including acclaimed authors like Mamang Dai, Namita Gokhale, and William Dalrymple. Discussions will span a variety of topics such as climate change, mental health, and cultural identity, in an effort to ignite meaningful dialogue and creative exchange.
Sikkim’s MLA Aditya Golay highlighted the festival's role in fostering intellectual engagement. The event promises to be a catalyst for young minds, encouraging critical thought and creative exploration, as echoed by Sonam Chopel Sherpa, chairman of the Students' Welfare Board.
