Two tragic incidents occurred when a herd of elephants trampled a 40-year-old worker and a 12-year-old boy to death in separate locations in Jharkhand's Koderma district.

Both incidents happened in the early hours at brick kiln units in Kanjhiadih Panchayat. The forest department had alerted the kiln owners about the elephant movements, but not all workers were informed in time.

As a result, two lives were lost while others managed to flee. The state government is processing compensation for the grieving families, offering Rs 4 lakh in cases of elephant attack fatalities.
