Wild Bison Attack Claims Two Lives in Jharkhand Forest
Two women were killed by a wild bison in Jharkhand's Gurikam forest. Identified as Shilamania Devi and Shanti Kunwar, the victims were collecting flowers when attacked. The Jharkhand government will provide compensation to the families. Ajay Toppo, forest range officer, confirmed the incident.

In a tragic incident, two women lost their lives in Jharkhand's Latehar district on Tuesday morning. The victims, identified as Shilamania Devi and Shanti Kunwar, were reportedly attacked by a wild bison while collecting flowers in the Gurikam forest.
According to forest range officer Ajay Toppo, the women's bodies were discovered on Tuesday morning. It appears that the fatal encounter occurred when they ventured into the forest on Monday and failed to return.
The local authorities have provided Rs 50,000 to the next of kin of each victim. An additional Rs 3.5 lakh will be disbursed upon completion of formalities, bringing the total compensation to Rs 4 lakh each as per the state's policy on fatal wildlife encounters.
