Unseasonal showers hit Mumbai on Tuesday as a depression over the Arabian Sea brought unexpected rainfall, impacting weather conditions in the region. The Colaba observatory reported 11 mm of rainfall, while Santacruz saw no precipitation, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre.
Weather officials indicated that the depression will likely cause more intermittent showers in the city over the next 48 hours. The resulting rainfall created a slight drop in daytime temperatures across Mumbai, bringing relief from the usual heat.
Temperatures dipped slightly, with the Colaba observatory recording a maximum of 32.4 degrees Celsius and Santacruz at 32.8 degrees, both below normal. However, nights were warmer due to cloudy skies and moisture-laden winds sweeping in from the Arabian Sea, said IMD officials.
