Actors Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Shweta Tripathi Sharma have concluded the Banaras shooting schedule of their latest project, 'Mirzapur: The Movie.' The film, produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment, is set to begin production in Mumbai.

'Mirzapur: The Movie' will see Pankaj reprising his role as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali as Guddu Pandit, and Shweta as Gajgamini Gupta. Despite his character's demise in the show's second season, Divyenndu returns as Munna Tripathi. Reflecting on the Banaras shoot, Pankaj described the city as spiritually raw and a place of belonging, attributing it to his character's origin.

Ali Fazal and Shweta Tripathi Sharma echoed the sentiment of Banaras's significance, describing how its energy and atmosphere have invigorated their roles. The cast noted a heartfelt connection with local fans, who treat 'Mirzapur' as their own narrative. The Amazon Prime Video series, which began in 2018, announces its fourth season in addition to the movie.
