Amid escalating tensions, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday implored RTC employees on strike not to resort to extreme actions such as suicide attempts. The Chief Minister's plea followed an alleged incident involving a Telangana Road Transport Corporation driver in Warangal district.

Emphasizing that 'suicide is not a solution,' Reddy tasked ministers, under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, to initiate dialogue with the employee unions on Friday. The government is committed to addressing the employees' issues, according to an official press release.

The incident, which occurred amid ongoing protests, involved a 50-year-old RTC driver named Shankar Goud. Goud reportedly set himself on fire at the Narsampet bus stand. He sustained severe burns and was hospitalized. The RTC strike, now in its second day, has compelled passengers to turn to private transport options.
