Delhi Capitals have announced the inclusion of England's promising leg-spinner, Rehan Ahmed, as a replacement for compatriot Ben Duckett for the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. Rehan, noted for his right-arm leg-spin, has made an impact on the international stage with 49 wickets across five Tests, nine ODIs, and 13 T20Is. The Delhi franchise secured his services for Rs 75 lakh.
This move follows Ben Duckett's exit from the tournament. Duckett, who was acquired for Rs 2 crore in the IPL 2026 auction, has opted out to focus on his physical and mental readiness ahead of England's busy home summer schedule. This includes matches against New Zealand, Pakistan, and India.
Duckett expressed his regret at not being able to join Delhi Capitals, acknowledging the disruption caused by his decision. He emphasized his commitment to representing England and preparing thoroughly for the upcoming international fixtures. The Capitals are set to face Punjab Kings next at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 25.
