Edappadi K Palaniswami, AIADMK General Secretary, leveled serious accusations against the DMK government during a rally in Dharmapuri. He cited alarming figures of 18,000 POCSO cases and 26,651 instances of sexual harassment as evidence of a failing public safety framework. Palaniswami contended that these numbers debunk Chief Minister M K Stalin's claims of a secure Tamil Nadu.
Palaniswami attacked economic management in Tamil Nadu, stating that the DMK added Rs 5 lakh crore to the state's debt in just one term. He labeled the 'Dravidian Model' as superficial, claiming that Tamil Nadu leads only in accumulating debt. He also highlighted alleged corruption in civic maintenance and rising taxes as adding economic strain on citizens.
Offering a contrasting vision, Palaniswami recalled his administration's higher education success and proposed populist measures for the upcoming 2026 elections. These include financial aids for women's monthly support, free gas cylinders, and unemployment assistance. He urged voters to bring the AIADMK-PMK alliance back to power for renewed focus on infrastructure and public safety.
