In a fiery speech, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took aim at Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the BJP-led NDA government, accusing them of corruption and ruling through intimidation. She criticized Sarma and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, labeling them as 'cowards.'
Addressing rallies in Nazira, Tingkhong, and Khowang, Gandhi Vadra alleged that the BJP government in Assam has failed in its promises, including the ones made to tribal communities about ST status, and accused them of mismanagement of resources. She also brought up old scams to amplify her charges.
The Congress leader further highlighted issues like unfulfilled wage hikes for tea garden workers and the removal of women's names from government schemes under threat of retribution. She cited the lack of job opportunities, causing youth outmigration, and demanded justice for famed Assam musician Zubeen Garg.
