In a blistering critique, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accused the BJP of rampant corruption in Assam. She alleged that a single family is monopolizing the state's resources, leaving its people in deprivation. Speaking at an election rally in Nazira, Vadra didn't hold back on her criticism of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming both govern through fear and manipulation.

Vadra charged that assets including mines and lands are being given away to industrialists under the current administration. She referenced past scandals like the Sarada and NC Hills scams to underscore her corruption allegations. Vadra termed the BJP's governance as a 'double-ghulami (slavery) government,' with Modi and Sarma serving the interests of the US and industrialists, respectively.

She also condemned the government for unfulfilled promises, especially concerning the wages of tea garden workers and scheduled tribe status for tribal communities. Highlighting cultural issues, Vadra criticized the absence of justice for late musician Zubeen Garg, demanding action within 100 days of Congress taking office. Polls for the Assam Assembly are on April 9, with results announced on May 4.
