In the face of escalating unrest in West Asia, approximately 598,000 Indians have been repatriated, according to Aseem R Mahajan, Additional Secretary (Gulf), Ministry of External Affairs. He disclosed that this significant movement of passengers occurred as additional flights continue to operate from the region to various Indian destinations.
An incident in Dubai yesterday, caused by debris from an interception, left three Indian nationals with minor injuries. Dubai authorities confirmed that the incident affected individuals from India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka as debris fell on homes in the city.
With limited non-scheduled flights between the UAE and India, and Qatar airspace partially open, flights continue from various Gulf countries to India. Airspace limitations necessitate alternative routes through Armenia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia for Indian nationals. The Ministry of External Affairs remains vigilant, maintaining a special control room for assistance.
