Rinkoo Singh Rahee, an IAS officer from the 2023 batch, has requested a return to the Provincial Civil Services (PCS) in light of prolonged inactivity in his current role. Attached to the Board of Revenue in Lucknow, Rahee attributes his decision to not having defined responsibilities for around eight months.
Despite media inquiries, Rahee clarified that this move does not signify an exit from public service. He emphasized adhering to the constitutional system and gaining a meaningful assignment. The officer underscored facing no personal issues or harassment but highlighted facing adversities in previous roles.
In an emotional plea, Rahee's family called for a fair opportunity to serve, asserting his dedication and principles. Political figures, including Akhilesh Yadav, criticized systemic issues, pointing out neglect of competent officers like Rahee. They urged him to reconsider his decision in hope of future reforms.
