NCW chief Vijaya Rahatkar strongly criticized remarks made by Bihar MP Rajesh Ranjan, known as Pappu Yadav, regarding women's political involvement. She labeled the comments as offensive, insensitive, and contradictory to constitutional norms.
Rahatkar emphasized that Yadav's views reflected a narrow mindset that undermines efforts towards women's rights and leadership. She demanded an unconditional public apology from Yadav and stressed that such statements are intolerable.
The Bihar Women's Commission has taken suo motu action, issuing a notice to Yadav and considering further measures, including a recommendation for his disqualification from Parliament.
