A 37-year-old man has died from suspected heatstroke in Kerala, marking the first such tragic incident in the state this year, confirmed the police on Thursday. The victim, Sanal Kumar M V from Mowanchery Pallipoyil, fell ill while working on a well at around 1.20 pm Wednesday.

Kumar was quickly transported to a local clinic before being transferred to a private hospital for advanced care. Despite medical efforts, he was declared dead at approximately 2.55 am Thursday with heatstroke reported as the cause, according to the case's FIR. Police ruled out any foul play in his death.

Amidst a scorching heatwave, Kerala authorities have urged residents to avoid outdoor work from 11 am to 3 pm and to take necessary precautions. The Chakkarakkallu police station classified the death as unnatural, and his remains have been returned to family members after a post-mortem examination.
