The Punjab Police have achieved significant success in their ongoing 'Gangstran Te Vaar' campaign, arresting over 22,000 individuals, including 461 associates of gangsters, in just three months. Since its launch on January 20, the operation has aimed to dismantle organized crime networks within the state.
Through over 62,000 raids, the police have apprehended hundreds of proclaimed offenders and detained many under preventive measures. In addition to arrests, the authorities have recovered a substantial amount of weapons, explosives, and drugs, indicating the effectiveness of the campaign.
Additional Director General of Police Promod Ban emphasized the comprehensive nature of the operation, which uses technology and public collaboration to fight crime. The unprecedented crackdown has disrupted criminal networks, promising no respite for organized crime in Punjab.
