An unexpected scene unfolded in a Temecula backyard when a hot air balloon carrying 13 individuals made an emergency landing. The incident, which occurred Saturday, was due to low fuel and weak winds, according to passenger Brianna Avalos.
Avalos and her husband, celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary, were among those aboard the balloon. Surprised homeowner Hunter Perrin was alerted by a neighbor to the unusual situation, finding a basket full of passengers in his backyard.
The pilot skillfully navigated the landing, ensuring no injuries and minimal disruption. After disembarking the passengers, he ascended again to land the balloon safely in a nearby street for dismantling. The crew's safe handling of the situation was praised by both passengers and onlookers.
