The Supreme Court has declined to review activist Umar Khalid's plea challenging the denial of his bail in the 2020 Delhi riots conspiracy case. The judges cited reasonable grounds supporting the allegations against him as the reason for their decision.

A bench comprising Justices Aravind Kumar and N V Anjaria also dismissed Khalid's request for an oral hearing regarding his review plea. The court's April 16 order clarified that there were no compelling reasons to overturn the judgment issued on January 5, 2026.

Under Supreme Court rules, review petitions are assessed by the same judges who issued the original ruling to address any apparent errors or significant injustices. However, the court found no basis to reconsider its earlier decision, continuing Khalid's bail denial amid the case involving 17 others connected to the 2020 riots.
