Crackdown on Extortion in Bokaro: Seven Arrested
Seven individuals were arrested in Jharkhand's Bokaro district for extorting money from traders. Authorities in Bokaro district of Jharkhand have made significant inroads in curbing extortion activities, apprehending seven individuals believed to have been targeting local traders. The arrests materialized shortly after police formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in response to mounting complaints about such criminal operations.
Identified among the detainees are Prince Gupta, Shyam Kumar Singh, Ajay Singh, Bhupendra Singh, Omprakash Pal, Jaynendra Shukla, and Golu Kumar. Police records indicate that these individuals are notorious for their criminal backgrounds. Law enforcement officials also seized firearms and ammunition during the crackdown.
In a dramatic turn of events, suspect Prince Gupta was injured during a recovery operation of weapons when he opened fire on police. The police returned fire, injuring Gupta. The investigation is ongoing as authorities aim to dismantle extortion networks in the region.
