Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has initiated an investigation following serious allegations of forgery and an attempted takeover of the Aligarh Public School. The controversy centers around claims of unauthorized control transfer and financial mismanagement.

A central issue involves the alleged forging of the signature belonging to a senior IPS officer, formerly the AMU Registrar, in July 2025. This forgery reportedly facilitated the unauthorized transfer of Rs 4.8 crore between banks, though no funds were ultimately withdrawn due to timely intervention by the university.

Protests erupted on the AMU campus following these revelations, with the university's Teachers Association suspecting a conspiracy to acquire valuable property. The university plans to file a police report, aiming to uncover the roles of those involved, including possible bank officials' complicity.
