In a scathing critique, Congress leader Mukul Wasnik has called out Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not delivering on his election promise to make Puducherry a 'BEST' union territory—focusing on Business, Education, Spirituality, and Tourism.
Speaking at a press conference, Wasnik alleged that rather than excelling, Puducherry has devolved into one of the nation's poorest administered regions under the current government, which he accuses of rampant corruption and negligence, particularly concerning the rising drug abuse issues among schoolchildren.
He further criticized the lack of action on commitments to elevate Puducherry's statehood status and predicted a change with the INDIA bloc, including Congress, DMK, and VCK, likely winning upcoming elections to challenge the current AINRC-BJP alliance.
