Shimla Shocker: Youth Arrested for Stone Attack on Schoolgirl
A 25-year-old man, Akshay Thakur, was arrested in Shimla for allegedly attacking a schoolgirl with a stone during a robbery attempt. The incident occurred near a village in Sanjauli, raising safety concerns following a recent student murder in Mandi. The accused's medical examination revealed no intoxication.

In a disturbing incident near Shimla, a 25-year-old man was taken into custody after allegedly attacking a Class 10 student with a stone. The accused, identified as Akshay Thakur from Dhalli, is said to have targeted the schoolgirl, intending to steal her belongings as she returned home.
The assault happened in a remote forested area near Sanjauli. According to reports, the victim's cries alerted nearby students, prompting Thakur to flee the scene. The injured girl was promptly taken to Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital. Authorities have charged Thakur under multiple sections, including attempt to murder and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh stated that Thakur was arrested and subjected to a medical examination, which ruled out intoxication. In light of recent events, including a student murder in Mandi, police have stepped up patrolling in vulnerable areas around Shimla.
