India's economic growth remains the cornerstone of its transformative agenda, according to Vinay Mohan Kwatra, the nation's Ambassador to the United States. Addressing the New India Conference at the Hudson Institute, Kwatra underscored growth and prosperity as essential motives behind sweeping changes in the country.

The Ambassador voiced concerns over a resurgence of global control regimes limiting access to necessary resources and technologies but underscored India's commitment to robust reforms. He pointed to rapid economic expansion, with GDP growth exceeding 7 percent, driven by governance and infrastructure reforms.

Kwatra highlighted major shifts, including total government transformation aimed at inclusive financial access and holistic security strategies addressing energy, economic, and food security needs. Infrastructure, both physical and digital, serves as a pivotal enabler and driver of this transformation, he said.
