In a significant move to bolster the basmati rice ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir, Sarveshwar Foods Limited organized a 'Basmati export promotion programme' at SIDCO Industrial Area in Samba.
The program aimed to provide farmers with direct access to markets and improve price realizations through collective marketing by Farmer-Producer Organisations (FPOs). Additionally, it underscored the importance of adopting sustainable and residue-free farming practices to meet global export standards.
Rohit Gupta, Chairman of Sarveshwar Foods, emphasized the importance of linking FPOs with producers and traders to ensure quality and sustainability across the value chain. Dr. Gayatri Tandon also highlighted strategies for enhancing market linkages and competitiveness. The event saw widespread participation from farmers, FPOs, traders, and top management of Sarveshwar Foods.
