On Monday, Amazon celebrated a significant achievement, announcing it surpassed the $20 billion mark in cumulative e-commerce exports from India, well ahead of its initial 2025 target. The tech giant revealed ambitious plans to hit $80 billion by 2030, under its Amazon Global Selling initiative.

Since its inception in 2015, the Amazon Global Selling program has empowered over 200,000 Indian exporters to market approximately 750 million 'Made in India' products across 18 international platforms, including prominent markets like the US, UK, UAE, and Germany. The seller base has notably increased by more than 33% in the past year, according to Amazon.

Srinidhi Kalvapudi, Head of Amazon Global Selling India, expressed that this milestone underscores the aspirations of Indian businesses and marks the increasing significance of e-commerce exports in global commerce. The company is committed to simplifying global selling through technological advancements and collaboration as it strives towards its 2030 objective.

Aligning with the Indian government's export ambitions, Amazon pledges dedicated support for India's export growth, aiming towards the nation’s $200-300 billion target by 2030. The program now includes sellers from various regions, with categories such as health, beauty, and home decor witnessing substantial growth.

States like Delhi, Gujarat, and Maharashtra lead the export volume, while smaller cities like Karur and Erode show impressive multi-million-dollar milestone achievements. Sarvesh Agarwal of HomeMonde emphasized the platform's role in globalizing Indian craftsmanship, aided by Amazon's export and logistical support.

The past decade has seen Amazon investing significantly in streamlining export processes for Indian MSMEs, enhancing awareness on compliance and logistics to empower small businesses in international markets. (ANI)
