Sri Lanka's President to Address AI Impact Summit 2026
Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is attending the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, focusing on responsible AI use. He will address the summit and hold talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders. The summit is the first of its kind in the Global South.

Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake departed for India on Tuesday to participate in the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. The event emphasizes the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for human benefit.
According to a government press release, President Dissanayake is slated to address the summit on Thursday. During his visit, he is also expected to conduct bilateral talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other world leaders.
Described as the first international AI gathering in the Global South, the summit is centered around the themes of people, planet, and progress as part of India's approach to cooperation in the field. Leaders including France's Emmanuel Macron and Brazil's Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, along with delegates from over 60 countries, are set to attend.
