Sri Lankan fast bowler Nuwan Thushara has officially withdrawn his lawsuit against Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). The case stemmed from the governing body's decision not to issue him a No Objection Certificate (NoC), barring his participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Thushara, with 30 T20 international matches under his belt since 2022, initially challenged the decision alleging that his failed fitness tests led to the denial of the certificate. However, given that most IPL matches have concluded, Thushara's attorney confirmed to the district court his client's decision to drop the case.
The attorney also expressed Thushara's apology to SLC, noting his client's readiness to let the matter rest. Thushara had been set to play for defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore this season, following appearances in 2024 and 2025.
