South Korea and Vietnam Forge Strategic Business Partnerships
South Korean and Vietnamese companies are set to finalize numerous business deals during South Korean President Lee Jae Myung's visit to Hanoi. Key areas of cooperation include finance, technology, infrastructure, and energy, with major firms like Samsung, LG, and Hyundai participating in discussions with Vietnamese leaders.
On Thursday, in a move set to strengthen economic ties, South Korean and Vietnamese firms are gearing up to ink multiple business agreements, coinciding with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung's visit to Hanoi. The discussions have already resulted in 12 cooperation pacts, including Korean investment in a proposed nuclear plant in southern Vietnam.
Among the anticipated agreements is a noteworthy partnership involving SK Innovation, which is set to co-develop a liquefied natural gas power plant and spearhead data center initiatives with local corporations. Other significant deals include Hyundai Rotem's $332 million contract for a rail infrastructure project in Ho Chi Minh City.
The high-profile delegation accompanying President Lee signifies South Korea's commitment to deepening its economic footprint in Vietnam, with Samsung, LG, and Hyundai among the notable participants. The discussions also aim to address Korean businesses' challenges in Vietnam, such as investment incentives and regulatory matters.
