Three engineering students tragically drowned in the Godavari River on Saturday evening near Dowleshwaram Barrage in the Konaseema district, police reported.
The group of four students, all from the Jampeta area of Rajahmundry, were swimming when the river's powerful current swept them away. Remarkably, one student managed to survive the ordeal.
The police have successfully recovered one body, but the search continues for the two others who remain missing. The authorities have registered a case of accidental drowning as investigations progress.
