Cambridge's men's team dominated the annual Boat Race, securing their seventh victory in eight years, while Oxford's women's team broke their losing streak with a decisive win on Saturday.
The women's crew, led by Britain's Olympic bronze medallist Heidi Long, surged through the choppy waters of the Thames, finishing 9.4 seconds ahead in their 80th race edition. Both schools showcased remarkable talent, with University alumna rowing the opposing sides—German postgraduate sisters Lilli and Mia Freischem, who are the first sister pair since Emma and Nicola Payne to compete on opposite teams 22 years ago.
The men's race marked the 171st edition, where the strong favorites, Cambridge, secured their 89th victory over Oxford with an impressive margin of 3.5 lengths and a time gap of 11.02 seconds. Oxford's men had last claimed victory in 2022, adding another chapter to this historic rivalry.
