Tragedy Strikes During Lao New Year Parade in Louisiana

In a tragic incident, a vehicle collided with revelers during the Lao New Year parade in rural Louisiana on Saturday, causing multiple injuries.

The incident, unfolding in Broussard and New Iberia, saw approximately 15 individuals injured, with some suffering serious harm. Videos circulating on social media revealed people sprawled on the ground, while emergency responders worked tirelessly to provide assistance.

The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the driver involved is in police custody and initial investigations suggest the collision was not intentional. Emergency response units, including 10 ambulances and a helicopter from Acadian Ambulance, quickly arrived at the scene to provide necessary medical care.
