Counterfeit Currency Gang Busted in Khairighat
Four members of a gang printing counterfeit currency have been arrested in Khairighat. The police seized fake notes worth Rs 11,500 and a printer. The suspects confessed to using the printer to produce fake notes for market circulation. An investigation is ongoing.

In a major bust, police arrested four individuals involved in printing counterfeit currency in Khairighat over the weekend, according to Superintendent of Police Vishwajeet Srivastava. Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement nabbed the suspects during the early hours between Friday night and Saturday morning.
During the arrest, fake currency totaling Rs 11,500, including twenty-three Rs 500 notes, and a color printer were confiscated. The arrested suspects—Gurucharan Singh alias Vijay, Saleem alias Suraj, Hariram Lodhi, and Arjun—admitted to producing and circulating counterfeit notes using the printer.
The accused have been charged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and are now in custody. Police have confirmed that further investigation into the matter is underway.
