In a significant push towards combating air pollution, the Delhi government has shortlisted 33 innovative prototypes to enter the second phase of its 'innovation challenge'. These projects range from solar-powered dust traps to advanced vehicle-mounted air purifiers.

According to officials, trials for these pioneering solutions are set to commence by the first week of May, with all necessary infrastructure provided by the government. An expert committee, led by IIT Professor Sagnik Dey, will oversee the trials, reviewing the most promising and cost-effective solutions.

Once evaluated, the innovations that meet the rigorous criteria will be adopted by the government. Top projects stand to receive funding incentives from the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, including substantial grants for solutions verified by equivalent national labs.
