BJP General Secretary Radha Mohan Das Agrawal on Thursday claimed that the Congress high command was unhappy with Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge for calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi a ''terrorist''. The Rajya Sabha member claimed that Kharge's position is now in danger after his comment. Addressing a press conference in Chennai alongside AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal, Kharge initially referred to the PM as a ''terrorist'' while criticising the AIADMK's alliance with the BJP. However, when asked by reporters to clarify his remark, Kharge stated that he meant the PM was ''terrorising the democratic fabric of the country''. Slamming Kharge for his comment, Agrawal, who is BJP's Karnataka in charge, said Kharge has now grown old and he must be realising after making the ''terrorist'' remark. He said he has also heard that people within the Congress party did not like Kharge's comment very much. ''As per my information, his (Kharge) high command-yes, he also has a high command. So, we have received information that even his high command is not very happy with this statement,'' the BJP general secretary said. ''His (Kharge's) position may also be in danger, I feel. Everything has an expiry date, and perhaps those signs are now visible,'' he added. Agrawal said that on paper Kharge is the national president, but he too has a high command within the party. He claimed that the Congress president has accepted this. ''When there was power tussle in Karnataka between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy D K Shivakumar, Kharge was the national president and should have taken a decision but he said the high command would decide. So, his high command is not very happy with his statement,'' the BJP leader said. He termed Kharge's statement as ''shameful and condemnable''.
