Fuel supplies in Karnataka remain stable and under control, despite global economic uncertainties, as per an Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) official. State Level Coordinator for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Siddharth Agarwal, assured against panic buying, highlighting coordinated efforts between oil firms and authorities in a recent press briefing.
Agarwal, also Executive Director and Karnataka head of IOCL, stated that a comprehensive petroleum ecosystem supports Karnataka, featuring Mangalore Refinery, numerous terminals, and over 7,500 fuel stations operated by public sector companies. LPG supplies remain stable, with improved digital systems aiding consistent delivery, though recent panic bookings had previously stretched timelines.
The government's initiatives, including free-trade LPG cylinders for low-income households, have witnessed increased demand. Meanwhile, inspections have curbed black marketing, and misinformation has been addressed to maintain public trust. The growing natural gas network also contributes to reliable energy access for Karnataka's citizens.
