Indian Youth Congress Criticizes Government Over Women's Reservation Delays

The Indian Youth Congress has criticized the central government for allegedly engaging in 'politics of distraction' over the women's reservation law. The party claims the government's linkage of the law to census and delimitation delays its implementation.

Uday Bhanu Chib, IYC national president, argued that the government is using this narrative to divert attention from pressing issues such as employment and inflation. He insists the delay cannot be blamed on Congress as the law was passed in 2023 with their support.

The Youth Congress demands swift implementation of women's reservation across all Lok Sabha seats and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of overshadowing key issues. Despite 298 MPs supporting the Constitutional Amendment Bill, it was defeated due to insufficient majority.
