Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spearheaded a 'Jan Aakrosh Mahila Padyatra' on Tuesday following the inability of the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill to secure passage in the Lok Sabha. The foot march symbolizes protest against the Women's Reservation Bill's defeat as oppositional votes blocked its success on April 17.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has orchestrated a 'Jan Akrosh Rally' to bolster support for the Chief Minister, with key figures such as BJP State President Pankaj Chaudhary and Deputy Chief Ministers joining him. From the Chief Minister's residence to the Legislative Assembly, a strong turnout of women, including ministers, underscored the march while Chief Minister Adityanath challenged the opposition's stance.

Amidst substantial police presence, Uttar Pradesh minister Ashish Patel accused the opposition of pursuing an undeclared agenda against granting women their rights. Following this sentiment, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, decrying the bill's blockage, warned opposition parties like the Samajwadi Party and Congress of potential electoral repercussions. Meanwhile, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal criticized the opposition's resistance to granting women their due share, emphasizing the joint responsibility of government and opposition to advance national interests.
