The political landscape in Chandigarh witnessed a significant upheaval following a blast outside the BJP office in Sector 37. The incident ignited a bitter exchange between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with each party leveling accusations against the other.
Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema from AAP criticized the BJP-led administration, highlighting what he termed as an evident intelligence failure under the central government's watch. Cheema pointed out that law and order in Chandigarh falls directly under the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, indicating that the BJP's control has been inadequate to prevent such incidents.
In response, Haryana Cabinet Minister Ranbir Gangwa condemned the blast and decried the opposition's critical stance towards BJP. He called accusations from AAP and other opposition factions 'unfortunate.' Authorities, including police and investigative agencies like NIA and FSL, have launched a full-scale investigation into the explosion, which preliminary reports suggest involved a crude explosive device.
