The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced its support for Naresh Meena, an independent candidate, in the upcoming Anta bypoll in Rajasthan, a move that could disrupt traditional party dynamics.
Arvind Kejriwal, AAP's national convenor, declared the party's backing on social media, strengthening Meena's challenge against Congress and BJP candidates. The bypoll, scheduled for November 11 with results expected on November 14, was triggered by the disqualification of BJP's Kanwar Lal Meena over a legal conviction from 2005.
Naresh Meena, a former Rajasthan University general secretary and Congress dissident, gained attention last year following an altercation with a government official. His candidacy in Anta emerges as a bid for change in the state's political landscape.
