Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu underscored the state's commitment to sports and youth empowerment during the opening of the 69th National School Games held at the Khelo India Indoor Stadium. Khandu described sports as more than mere competition, emphasizing its role in character-building and teamwork.
He noted significant investments in sports infrastructure, including new centres and academies, and mentioned financial and technical support for budding sportspersons. This event is the first National School Games hosted by Arunachal Pradesh, marking a significant achievement for the state.
Highlighting the state's relationship with the School Games Federation of India and its progress in school-level sports, Khandu applauded local efforts behind the event. He inspired athletes to compete with integrity and marked the Games as a step towards making the state a sporting hub in the Northeast.
