The Telangana Police are making concerted efforts to secure the extradition of Ajith Kumar Mupparapu, a British citizen of Indian origin, wanted for trial in India on murder charges connected to alleged arsenic poisoning. The 45-year-old pharmacist recently appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court, where the Crown Prosecution Service outlined the case against him on behalf of the Indian authorities.
Mupparapu is accused of targeting his ex-wife's family, including four alleged incidents of attempted murder, murder, and conspiracy to murder, all occurring in 2023. The most harrowing consequence was the death of his ex-mother-in-law, following arsenic poisoning in July 2023.
Efforts for Mupparapu's extradition have been detailed by Deputy Commissioner of Police Ritiraj, emphasizing cooperation between British and Indian law enforcement. As the legal proceedings draw to a close in London, a judgment is expected soon, with further investigations planned once Ajith returns to India.
