Controversy Unveiled: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Defends David Geier's Role in Vaccine Safety Review
U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. informed senators about sharing the contract of anti-vaccine activist David Geier, who serves as a contractor with the CDC. Despite controversy over Geier's past and differing views on vaccines, Kennedy supports his review of CDC data while protocols remain incomplete.
U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has pledged to disclose the contract of David Geier, a known anti-vaccine activist contracted by the Department of Health and Human Services. Kennedy reassured senators that they would receive the contract details by the end of the week, during his testimony before the Senate Finance Committee.
Geier, who has long contested established scientific claims about vaccines, is a senior data analyst at HHS and reports to the CDC. The contract's release would represent the first official breakdown of Geier’s role at the department. Despite criticisms about his views and past, Kennedy defended the utility of Geier's work.
Senator Ben Ray Luján queried Kennedy on the existence of protocols governing Geier's work. Kennedy admitted the absence of such protocols but committed to providing them once Geier's examination is complete. Geier's past includes being fined for practicing medicine without a license, raising questions about his current involvement in vaccine safety review.
