The Haryana Assembly will convene for a standout session on April 27, focusing on a bill aimed at advancing Group D employees and a significant censure motion against opposition entities. This motion pertains to the recent defeat of a bill intended to amend the women's quota law within the Lok Sabha.
Addressing the media, Chief Minister Nayab Saini placed blame on opposition parties, including the Congress and Samajwadi Party, for hampering the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill. This bill aimed to increase Lok Sabha seats from 543 to 816, operationalizing a 33% women's reservation policy in legislative bodies.
Saini criticized opposition parties for impeding women's empowerment and announced the introduction of the Haryana Clerical Service Bill, 2026. This upcoming bill seeks to enhance the promotion quota for Group D employees, offering better opportunities and conditions. The bill reflects the government's commitment to investment promotion, as highlighted at the first Cabinet meeting in Gurugram.
