In a spirited demonstration, members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took to the streets of Beed city, Maharashtra, to voice their opposition against the Congress party's stance on women's reservation in legislative bodies.
Leading the charge, Sarikatai Yogesh Kshirsagar of the BJP criticized the Congress for what she described as 'anti-women' actions and obstruction of women's progress. A large gathering of women activists supported the protest, resounding with slogans condemning the Congress.
Kshirsagar's address emphasized that the Congress party's recent vote against a bill for 33% women's reservation in the legislatures highlights their opposition to women's empowerment. In contrast, the BJP views its reservation policy as a significant step toward promoting women's leadership and ensuring equal opportunities.
