Wall Street’s main indexes showed gains at opening on Wednesday after U.S. President Donald Trump extended the ceasefire agreement with Iran. Investors remained cautious, however, due to uncertainty over whether Tehran and U.S. ally Israel would adhere to the truce.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average ventured up 122.1 points, marking a 0.25% increase, opening at 49,271.5. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 experienced an uptick of 38.9 points or 0.55%, opening at 7,102.91. The Nasdaq Composite saw the largest rise, jumping 202.3 points or 0.83% to open at a new level of 24,462.313.

The extension of the ceasefire was seen as a positive signal by investors, although geopolitical tensions continue to cloud the overall stability of the region.
