In a brazen daylight theft, unidentified individuals managed to steal a bag containing Rs 24.30 lakh from an accountant's parked car in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, as the victim paused for tea. According to police reports, the heist unfolded Tuesday, leaving authorities in pursuit of the elusive suspects.
The accountant, identified as Taher Khan, had withdrawn the substantial sum of money from a bank on Diversion Road. He later stopped to deliver Rs 2.70 lakh at a merchant's establishment on Jawahar Marg before heading towards the Data Hanuman Temple lane, where the theft took place.
Preliminary investigations revealed that two suspicious individuals on a motorcycle sans number plate trailed Khan's car from the bank. The duo, partly concealed by helmets, attempted to break into the vehicle when it stopped on Jawahar Marg, failing initially but proceeding to follow the car none the less. Their successful theft from the unsecured parking spot has prompted a police investigation, with separate teams formed to trace the culprits.
